• The Transition Step: It removes the visible “white” scratches left by the 100 grit disc. By the time you finish with 200 grit, the surface should look uniform in color and feel “satin-smooth” to the touch.

• The “Sealer” Stage: In concrete countertop and floor work, 200 grit is the industry-standard stage for applying penetrating sealers or densifiers. The surface is open enough to absorb the chemical but smooth enough that the sealer won’t be trapped in deep gouges.

• Grout Removal: If you have applied a “slurry” or grout to fill pinholes in concrete or stone, the 200 grit disc is the ideal tool to grind away the excess hardened grout without opening up new holes
