Gas welding kit

A gas welding kit, most commonly known as an oxy-fuel welding and cutting kit (or often specifically oxy-acetylene), is a versatile setup used for joining, cutting, and heating various metals. It operates by burning a mixture of a fuel gas (like acetylene, propane, or MAPP gas) and oxygen to produce a high-temperature flame.

Common Uses of Gas Welding Kits:

• Welding: Joining two pieces of metal by melting their edges and, often, adding a filler rod. Suitable for steel, cast iron, copper, brass, and some aluminum alloys.
• Cutting: Using a high-pressure stream of oxygen to rapidly oxidize and cut through heated metal (primarily carbon steel).
• Brazing and Soldering: Joining metals at lower temperatures using a filler metal that melts below the melting point of the base metals. Brazing creates stronger joints than soldering.
• Heating: For bending, straightening, or preheating metal before other welding processes.
• Hardfacing: Applying a layer of wear-resistant material to a metal surface.
• Rivet Cutting: Removing rivets by melting or cutting them.
